Our Philosophy
At True Honors College Consulting, we understand that you have worked hard to get where you are. You are a True Honors student, and you deserve to have that recognized in the college application process. We also understand that the college application process is more competitive now than ever before, and too often excellent students are overlooked in favor of less-qualified students with better branding. At True Honors College Consulting, we work with you to help bring out the best in who you are so that your true gifts shine bright.
Our approach goes far beyond simple rankings, which do not factor in the student at all. We aren’t here to help you get into the best schools on some list, but to get you into the best schools for you.
True Honors College Consulting is the work of Sean Lewis. A professional educator, journalist and author with degrees from UC Santa Barbara and Boston University. He has over a decade of college consulting experience and specializes in helping students unlock their true potential as writers and students.

We offer a range of solutions designed to meet your student’s need. Whether that is a review of one or two essays or step-by-step guidance from an expert, we aim to meet our students where they are and build from there.

We cannot make any promise like that, and any consultant who does make that kind of promise should not be trusted. What we do promise is that we will give each student the best possible chance to present themselves the best they can.

Simply put, that is when most people are available. We offer meeting times between 5 - 8:30 p.m. Pacific time in order to be available for parents after work and available for students after extracurricular activities are done.

Unfortunately, no. Despite our tried and true methods that have proven results, sometimes some students simply stumble into bad luck. We cannot control what others will see in us, only how we present ourselves to them.
